Why Hope in Colour Exists
Beacause no child should be harmed by the system meant to protect them.
I’m Shanntelle, a Mother to three Neurodivergent children, and the founder of Hope in Colour Advocacy.
I started this organisation not as a professional advocate, but as a parent who was pushed to the edge. After witnessing the harm done to my children, including abuse, neglect and systemic failures within the places that were supposed to protect them, I knew I couldn’t stay silent.
Through the trauma, through the fight, I saw a bigger truth: It was happening to so many families, especially those with disabled or neurodivergent kids.
Hope in Colour Advocacy was born from that fire. A mother-led, justice-fuelled response to systems that are failing our children every day.
To end the abuse of children in Australian systems by centring lived experience, demanding accountability and building a better future.
